Green Jeevan – Smoked Green Tea from Nepal.
This tea is prepared during March to June, October or November. To make the Smoked Green, tender one leaf and a bud are hand plucked carefully in the early morning or during late afternoon before the Sun sets. They are brought to the factory immediately so that the inherent freshness is not lost. Then the leaves are spread on a wooden tray and smoked for 3 hours from underneath the tray. The smoked leaves arede-enzymed for 1 minute. Next, they are hand rolled for 30 minutes before being smoked for 2 hours. After that, the leaves are dried on a high fired oven. Finally, they are kept inside a village kitchen for over 1 month for maturation under normal environment.
The hard work and time undertaken to craft this art like infusion are portrayed in the intense and flavorful taste of the Smoked Green, and you will know it as soon as you savor the first tang.
The liquor is quite brisk, smooth and full-bodied marked by dominant notes of smoky greens which are discernible from start to finish. Sweet corn flavours and toasted peas come in briefly and fade away rendering a clean finish.
